Fodder host

Neva Masquerade, kittens, cat breeders, breeders, corda dreams

Vwhy feed host?

In order to have a chance to continue my breeding work, I need the help of fodder hosts.  It gives me the opportunity to continue to improve and evaluate my lines and work forward for the Neva Masquerade breed.

In order for my cats at home to feel good and be in balance, I therefore cannot have as many cats as I like.

I am looking for foster hosts who can give our cats a lifelong home. It is therefore a forever home, which requires a little more interest, time, responsibility and commitment.

You as feed host:

  • Selected with the greatest care, where personal chemistry and ability to work together are of the utmost importance.

  •  Should be interested in the Neva Masquerade breed and want this particular breed.

  • Don't have other fertile cats at home, a neuter is fine, but I prefer her to be a single cat.

  • Lives in Gothenburg and the surrounding area.

  • Have the opportunity to take time off in connection with childbirth, (I will also be there), and be prepared to be at home if the kittens need supplemental feeding for a few weeks. Alternatively, I will bring the female home before giving birth and have the kittens here. You can of course visit.

  • Must be able to guarantee that the cat can be an indoor cat. That possibly balconies or patios are secured so she can't escape. Leash walks and cattery go well.

  • Have the opportunity to receive kitten buyers in your home, alternatively this takes place at my place if they are here.

You:

  • Wants a Neva Masquerade cat, but doesn't want full responsibility for showing and breeding.

  • Is interested in exhibition and breeding and maybe in the future wants to start own breeding.

  • Are interested in the breed and can imagine contributing to its development.

Being a food host means a little more of you as a new cat owner, it does NOT mean a "free cat".

In practical terms:

Being a foster means that I own the cat, even though she lives with you and you take care of her as your own. However, the cat needs to be available to me as I have the right to exhibit and use her in my breeding work during the fodder hosting period. The best is if you are interested in exhibitions and accompany the exhibitions yourself. I want to judge her and would like to see her Champion before she has her two litters.

In order to have two litters in time, a fodder host spans a maximum of 5 years, during which we need to be able to have a lot of contact. I need to see her regularly for her to accept me handling her at the show. Therefore, it is important that we live close to each other. I need and will be at hand during the birth and the kitten period, when I partly need to follow the kittens' development and also meet the buyers. It is possible to write into the agreement that the female should give birth to the kittens at the owner's place, i.e. at my place. This can be read about in SVERAK's agreement, see link below.

As a breeder, I am responsible for the kittens that grow up in my clan name.

The female:

The female is carefully selected to have the best conditions according to breed standards for exhibition and breeding.

If the female should turn out to have any disease or be infertile, the female becomes the owner's property after veterinary assessment.

The female is castrated after her litters before she passes into the owner's possession.

The financial part:

During the feeding period, I am the owner of the cat and pay her life and veterinary care insurance. I also pay for the health tests that are done in the breeding investigation. However, I want you to be able to take her to the vet to have these done, if I can't. I will pay for your travel expenses to the vet.

I am also responsible for costs in connection with exhibition and extra expenses during the kitten period, i.e. kitten food, pellets, insurance, the kittens' vet visits and any other breeding-related costs.

You, as a feeder host, pay for the cat's daily life, food, sand, scratching posts, toys, etc.

Once the female is in your possession I would like you to do another HCM scan at age 5 which I will pay for.

SVERAK:

Being a complete fodder owner according to SVERAK's agreement means that I, as a breeder, may take two litters from the female before the ownership passes to you as fodder owner, without any purchase sum. A litter counts as (at least) 2 live kittens/litter at 12 weeks of age. Only one live kitten is born in one of the littersI right to take another litter.

Semi-feed agreements are no longer available at SVERAK.
